This past weekend was spent in a small room with about 15 cake decorators learning how to make the most beautiful gum paste (sugar) flowers from Nicholas Lodge, world famous cake decorator extraordinare. I was by far the youngest of the bunch (and that ain't saying much!) and the only one not wearing "Mom Jeans". It was quite the experience.
Nicholas Lodge is indeed quite famous- he made Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding cake.
Here are some pictures of the flowers that I made. And NOTE: They are not real. I had to put them up high so MKF couldn't get her little kitty paws on them. She loves to munch on flowers.
