BLEGH.

The Husband and I decided last week to bite the bullet and buy a king mattress. After deciding on buying a California King mattress- we set off to buy a fabulous platform bed. Unfortunately, a fabulous platform bed did not exist for our Cal-King mattress, so we changed our order and ordered a regular king mattress. We found a platform bed at IKEA and all seemed right with the world. We started this weekend on cleaning out the second bedroom- organizing and throwing away old stuff. I had a great time finding all sorts of old pictures- laughing and having a good time. (Save for the horrible pictures of me in a bathing suit from the last 6 years. If that's not inspiration to get my ass in gear, I don't know what is) Jeremy and I made lots of progress on the second bedroom, even got the new bed all ready for the new mattress. I couldn't wait to sleep on the new bed!

THEN OUR MATTRESS ARRIVED TODAY. Yes, after about 10 minutes of consultation with the delivery guys, it was determined that our mattress was NOT going to fit up the stairs to our bedroom. RASSUM FRASSUM!!!!!!

Plan B: Buy a neat TempurPedic mattress at Costco Home. EXCEPT THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE ONE WE WANTED. I hate you Costco Home!

Meh. Today has been disappointing. Not to mention that I had a case of the butterfingers and dropped my Treo on the kitchen floor, cracking the screen. GAH!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat.....

I just got a new issue of Food & Family from Kraft Foods in the mail and look what I found...

Do you see what it says?! READY TO EAT CHEESECAKE FILLING.

Why on earth is it listed as "Filling"? It should just be "READY TO EAT".

That is all.

New Year's Check in

Ok I am not being a total pyscho- I think I need to check in on my resolutions for 2007.

- Make more recipes from my cookbooks: Hmmm. So far I'm failing in this department. Most of my recipes are from WeightWatchers.com or just your basic veg and meat dishes. Although I have been cooking almost every night, I'm not really pulling recipes from my cookbooks. I guess it doesn't help that most of my cookbooks are either dessert related or by the Barefoot Contessa. A stick of butter anyone?

- Be happier at work: Ok that's been a big fat NO. I'm trying REEEALLY hard. I've got the case of the MONDAYS.

- Uhhh I forget the other ones. I haven't been watching Booby Flay on Food Network (no, that wasn't a typo...) but I haven't been watching much Food Network as I am trying not to go crazy on food. So far, so good. Jeremy even told me today that I was working out too much. What? It's not like I go to the gym for three hours a night or anything.

Maybe I should make more resolutions?

- Celebrate the little victories in life. I think too often we put such importance on HUGE goals like getting your doctorate in medicine or curing cancer. There's no shame in celebrating the fact that you cleaned the cat box twice in one week.
- Enjoy my time with my friends and loved ones. Sure you can always talk to them anytime you want, but when you're a crazy old cat lady it's not so cute when you are talking to them IN YOUR HEAD.
- Spend less time on the computer.

the end.

Pictures from Christmas!

Sorry these took so long to post- my camera was being held captive in Mill Creek. This picture is hilarious. I think this is Quinn...

Making it through January

Yesterday was a great moment for me at Costco. It sounds really corny, but bear with me. Yesterday we did some errands at Costco and I saw they had Lucky Jeans on sale for $34. I grabbed a pair, not really thinking they would fit anyway and preparing myself to try them on then have to take them back. But after trying them on at home- they FIT. THEY FIT. I am used to having to get "a size up" in a lot of things, but lately, stuff is starting to fit or be a little baggy. It's a great feeling- I haven't felt this way in a reeeally long time.

Happy New Year!

New Year's Resolutions:
- Use my cookbooks more. I have all these beautiful cookbooks with these fabulous recipes and I hardly use them. I want to take advantage of all those cool books.

-Work my ass off at the gym. Cardio is great, but it can only get me so far.

-Make myself happy at work. Wherever I work.

Oh and I refuse to watch Food Network until they stop playing "Bobby Flay's Throwdown". That dude needs a swift kick in the butt.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
