That thing is huge... It's got it's own weather system!

This weekend was another fun weekend up on the slopes at Snoqualmie. Yes, sadly enough the snow IS melting, but not too fast and it makes for fun spring snow. AKA: It doesn't hurt so much when you fall on your ass. I was really getting the hang of it this weekend, I was so excited when I was able to make it down the hill without falling! Granted, it was a Green Run that the lady behind me in line for the chairlift called "The Baby Hill" (whatever lady, you're waiting for the same lift I am, so zip it!) I finally got to test out my new snowboard "LuLu" (yes my snowboard has a name, Lovely Lulu of the South- I named it, don't laugh) and it was like a dream. Of course, it didn't make falling any less painful, just slightly more stylish.

Afterwards The Husband and I stopped off at XXX Burgers in Issaquah. I am in love with that place, if not for the tasty burgers and onion rings alone! The Husband had a death wish that involved a meat induced coma by ordering the XXX Burger. For further photographic evidence, see below:

Today we visited our friends Matt and Melanie and their adorable newborn, Owen. We brought in lunch, dyed Easter Eggs with Sophia and had a nice afternoon. I just finished watching Sunset Boulevard and it was a GREAT old movie. Norma Desmond is indeed the eptiomy of creepy old washed-up lady. "I am big, it's just the pictures that got small". Indeed.

Hooked!

This weekend Jeremy took his first snowboard class and now both of us are hooked! We went up on Saturday with our friends Sarah and Isaac who where also taking skiing classes that day. As they were busy with their class, I rode on the green runs by myself- happy to not have to worry about an instructor breathing down my neck and pointing out all my mistakes. It took me a while to get warmed up again and try my turns, but I got there. I will not, however, EVER ride the chair lift with a child again. I thought I was doing this little hellian a favor by riding the chair lift up, only to be taken down and dragged off the lift at the end. Aren't there rules against children like that?!

My most favorite moment though was seeing Isaac and Sarah on the chairlift, amd me waving and yelling "Hi guys!" and then promptly falling on my face. I got up and fell again. At least they thought it was funny.

I know a girl named Mean Jody...

It's true. I do.

In other news, the finale of Project Runway is tonight ( in 19 minutes to be exact.) So I must be quick. Work has been so so so so very busy (but fun at the same time. Although it would be a lot better if I had someone rubbing my shoulders and feeding me chocolates when I am typing.) I am dying to get up to the mountains and go snowboarding again (must try out my new jacket, boots and goggles! Did I tell you that my jacket has a sensor in it so that I can be found if caught in an avalanche?! Tres swank!)

I found Santino's Blog : www.santinorice.com and I found out that he probably stole some images from Getty Images. Needless to say I forwarded that tidbit of information on to the appropriate parties. Hey man, don't look at me. I work for an image licensing company and gotta protect photographers work. He'd be pissed if someone copied his designs and sold them.

Whistler Weekend!

This past weekend, Jeremy and I joined 7 other friends in Whistler B.C. We arrived on Friday to a town that hadn't seen fresh snow in three weeks. Jeremy and I attempted snowshoeing on Saturday morning, only to be so disappointed with the lack of snow that we took off our snowshoes and hiked the rest of the trail on regular shoes. I did end up falling three times on the ice, but I'm ok.

Saturday night dumped about a foot or so of fresh snow on Whistler, making for an awesome Sunday ski day. I took a snowboard lesson all day on Sunday and learned (finally!) to link my turns and managed to make it down the hill in one piece. Don't get me wrong, I did a lot of falling- but I had so much fun that it made the lesson worthwhile. I did crash pretty bad once, ended up with a faceful of snow and a little bit of whiplash. Sweet.

Finally, on Monday, the rain came and it was time to go home. The ride back down to Seattle was a quiet one, with the occasional rustling of the potato chip bag and looking out the window for "Nature" aka wildlife.
