Formula One Fan!

Isabel doesn't know it yet, but she's destined to be a Formula One fan like her Dad. Well, she better, 'cause I bought the cute Robeez to wear when she and her Dad watch races.

Check out my race car shoes!

Race Day with Dad (check out those cheeks!)

Yesterday we had a special visit with my godparents up in Bothell and dinner with my parents later that evening. My godparents were so excited to see Isabel, and it was a wonderful time for me to hang out with them.

Meeting Nino and Nina (my godparents)

Ok last picture- this is totally hilarious and if I could imagine what she is thinking right now, it would probably be "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?"

Fabulous New Uses for Children

Two Words: CARPOOL LANE

Yes I love the fact that I can now get into the carpool lane on 405 with Isabel in the backseat. I don't love the dirty looks I get from people who don't realize that I'm totally legal and within my right to take advantage of the carpool lane, but they can just deal with it. Actually, I'm waiting to get reported to that 1-800-Hero or whatever the number is that you call to report HOV violators. Do they still have that phone number live?

Spit Up and Other Treasures...

Yes, being a new mom is hard. Today I was spit up on numerous times, but didn't bother to change my shirt as I knew it would invite more spit up. I was able to catch a two hour nap today after hard night of trying to put Isabel down and an even harder morning today of getting her back to sleep. My grand idea of trying to cut out the caffeine while breast feeding was enthusiastically thrown out the window after I read in "The Baby Book" that less that 1% actually gets to the baby through breast milk. Actually, after this morning- I believe my exact words were "Screw that!" and I started to grind coffee beans while rocking Isabel.

She's growing like a weed and is cute as a button (well, the baby acne kicked in last week and poor kiddo looks like she is in Junior High). Jeremy caught me calling her a Klingon today as I was commenting on her dry skin around her nose.
Today, "The Aunties" came over for a visit and brought by some food. I treasure my friends and I love that they will come and visit me all the way down in Renton. They have been so wonderful as they have brought Jeremy and I food every week for the past 4 weeks. We have been well taken care of and I appreciate them so much.

This picture was taken last week. I have been too pooped to upload any new images, but this one is pretty cute. She was sleeping like that on Jeremy- all stretched out with her super long legs. I actually had to buy "onesie extenders" for her as she is so long in the torso. She certainly didn't get that from me!

3 Weeks Already!?

I like to call this look: "You better feed me soon or I'm gonna start crying"

Grandpa and Isabel

Isabel is visited by Tonto. The cat later tried to groom Tonto.

Seriously, where has the time gone? I can't believe it is mid-May already! We survived our first heat wave here in Renton with the baby, but it wasn't pretty. We all slept downstairs in the living room on Saturday night, Jeremy on the couch, me on a blow-up mattress and Isabel in her Pack-n-Play. The heat didn't seem to faze her too much, but the rest of us were miserable.

How Fast They Change

It is crazy to watch Isabel change over the past few days. She's filling out- and every day she changes a little bit. Here she shows evidence of a little smile, which we all know means she's pooping her pants or something. She does this sometimes at night after I have fed her and it kinda creeps me out, but is pretty funny at the same time.
I'm still getting used to the fact that I have a baby- the whole idea has been pretty amazing to me. Sometimes I sit back and I think "Holy crap, I'm a MOM" and whammo- my mind is blown. It is amazing to me that this little being is here, when for the longest time she was just a "belly bump".
Today was my first adventure out of the house without the baby and I pretty much didn't know what to do with myself. It was quite the experience. Where did I go, you ask? To Babies R Us and Target. HA. This is now my life.

One of my favorite pictures so far...

Pretty darn cute if you ask me... but I'm her Mama.

Ew...

There are a few things that make me say EWWW...

1. Baby Poo (it looks like yellow cottage cheese. Groddy)
2. Isabel lost her umbilical cord today... looked like bacon. GROSS.
3. I heard that the Duggar's are on their 18th child. What the hell...

Tales from the Crib

So here are some more pictures of Isabel, posted to Jeremy's Flickr account.

Things have been getting better, I'm getting used to Isabel's sleep schedule and trying to go with the flow. I am pretty damn tired, but it is ok.

We've had some fun visitors this week and it has been nice to see people from the outside world. If anyone wants to come by and say hello- I welcome the visit! I haven't been able to get out too much, so I look forward to anyone who wants to come by.
